Hello Little Friends!!
My name is Sharon Banh and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2022-2023 school year. This is my third year teaching at Darrell Lynn Hines Academy and I am so excited to have your child in my class! I can’t wait for us to meet new friends and learn and grow together!
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Development and Family Studies. I then attended Concordia University Wisconsin to earn my teaching license, where I am currently continuing my studies to earn my reading teacher license and Master’s degree. I have grown up playing pretend as a teacher, loving my little sister, cousins and neighbors around me. I am thrilled to be teaching and living my dream “when I grow up” job!
What to Expect This Year
This year your student will be learning many foundational skills, practicing social skills, working on self-awareness, and learning about the world we live in. Here are just a few of the many things your student will learn this year:
- Letter recognition
- Letter-sound correspondence
- Letter formation
- Sight words
- Decoding and reading
- Story comprehension
- Writing Patterns
- Counting to 100
- Addition and subtraction within 10
- Exploring our world
Through questions, exploration, research, and teamwork your student will learn these skills and more. My hope is that your student finds joy in learning new things and does not shy away from challenges but rather learns to use their resources to take risks and grow!
Please do not hesitate to reach out with questions, concerns, or comments. I am looking forward to working together to provide your child with the skills and experiences for a successful future!.
